What is Latisse?
Latisse is a solution that is applied to the lashline to make eyelashes longer, thicker and darker.
How does it work?
Latisse is the only product that is FDA approved to make lashes grow longer, thicker and darker. It is believed to work by increasing the length of the anagen phase (hair growth phase) and the number of hairs produced during that phase. Latisse is actually a version of a medication used for patients with glaucoma. Patients noticed that they grew longer, more voluminous lashes while taking the medication.
How should Latisse be applied?
For the first 16 weeks (about 4 months), Latisse should be applied consistently every night. After the initial 16 week period, we find you can move to maintenance treatment, applying Latisse 3-4 times a week.
When will results appear? How long will the results last?
It takes 16 weeks of consistent nightly application for full results to appear, but most people report visible changes by week 8. Results require that you continue using Latisse. If you stop using Latisse, your lashes will eventually return to their baseline length.
Who is a good candidate?
Latisse is a safe product that can be used by most patients who desire longer, thicker and darker lashes. You should not use Latisse if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have glaucoma or eye pressure problems, consult with your eye doctor before beginning Latisse.
